NURSING FOUNDATION

Department of nursing foundation aims to provide training in basic nursing procedure which will enable the student to attain competent skills in patient care. The students are given effective training in laboratory under simulated condition before they could perform in actual hospital settings.

The department enable the students to develop desirable attitude in applying the recent trends of nursing process with scientific principles in care of patient with medical and surgical condition in various clinical settings of national and international level

MEDICAL SURGICAL NURSING

Medical surgical nursing department is the largest department which focuses on to train the student nurses to acquire skills and in_depth knowledge needed to provide preventive, curative, promotive and rehabilitative adult care in different settings of the hospitals. This department deals with the subjects such as fundamental of nursing, medical nursing, surgical nursing and advanced clinical nursing.

In this department there are 1 professor, 2 Assistant professor and 1 lecturer. We have well equipped lab and library for the students to practice skills and acquire knowledge.

CHILD HEALTH NURSING

The department of paediatric nursing is committed to help graduate students to acquire knowledge,skill and practice in caring for the health of infants,children and adolescents through innovative medical care, research, education and training. Integrated with educational activities, we provide hands on learning and practical experiences to equip our graduate students with the skills they will need as future advocates of child health

COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING

The department of CHN is involved in training of undergraduate nursing students in the field of CHN. Students are trained in the areas of family assessment and community assessment to identify health problems of people living in the community.

We have 3 faculties and a well equipped lab. Our students are trained in CHC arunootymagalam and the PHC's and sub centers under it. We used to send our students for the community posting under the areas of CHC arunootymangalam

MENTAL HEALTH NURSING

The department , under an experienced and dedicated faculty, renders quality education to undergraduate students assisting them in developing expertise and an in depth understand of the field. It help the students accept patient as individuals and develops skills to function as psychiatric nurses.

The department is also committed to provide opportunities for professional growth and professional development of each individual

OBG

Well equipped laboratory with labor manikins, assessment manikins and surgical instruments for obstetrics and gynaecology. The students are getting rich experience in OBG Nursing from Mercy Hospital Pothy and General Hospital Pala.
